- Not setting off non-essential clauses.
- Setting off essential clauses.
- Using a comma to join sentences.
- Not using a comma before an independent clause.
- Not using commas between items in a list or series.
- Not using commas to separate place names.
- Not inserting a comma after a date or year.
- Not setting off the noun of direct address.
Jennifer and I, went to the store.
The doctor, who was a gentleman left the room while I disrobed.
Doctor Who which is a long-running British T.V. series is undergoing a leadership change.
